Sending Warm Greetings

Banner-PIN-sights
It's cool & damp around here, so a card sending warm greetings seems appropriate.  The beautiful Fall mood board for the Ellen Hutson Pin-Sights challenge provided my inspiration.  I focused on the on the colors in the apple picture & smooshed a panel of watercolor paper with Distress Inks fired brick & spiced marmalade. Since I learned to do 1 color at a time & dry between each layer, I love how this technique turns out.  This time I also tried using less water for some layers which gives even more texture. I didn't want to add any other colors, so die cut EH Bold Blossoms leaves & blossoms from the panel.
Before adhering them to the ivory card with Perfect Paper Adhesive which dries invisible, I used my Mini MISTI to stamp the greeting in Versafine Vintage Sepia. I was a lucky winner recently & the beautiful Sending Peonies stamp set from The Ton was part of the prize Virginia sent to me. There is a lovely variety of sentiments you can stamp with the word Sending & using the MISTI makes it so easy. I lightly splattered with the Vintage Sepia & added a few PPP gold sequins. I'm also entering CCCB, CropStop, Fusion (sketch) & Word Art Wednesday. I know everyone is super busy, so your visit is especially appreciated.

Winter BD Card

Fun to make a birthday card in the midst of holiday crafting.  I had a gift certificate to spend for Impression Obsession & as soon as I saw the new Three Trees Background die I knew it needed to come to my house--haha! Fortunately it wasn't out of stock too long & here's my first card using it.  I honestly didn't think about how many little pieces there would be, but using my metal adapter plate worked great using 65# cardstock.  I blended Distress Inks pine needles, faded jeans & dusty concord onto a scrap for a day time background. The IO sentiment, A6977, is stamped in Memento Nautical Blue.
I covered the words with micropore tape before spraying with adhesive & covering with prisma glitter.  I was afraid the small font of the sentiment would get lost if it was glittered.  I'm entering the cool colors challenge at Impression Obsession as well as The Playground, SSS Monday, & Word Art Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Papertrey November Blog Hop Challenge

Please scroll down for my Rudolph Days card.
Blog-hop-logo

Blog hop inspirationI always look forward to PTI Blog Hop day. This month the inspiration picture has a lot of variety.  The first thing I noticed was the beautiful white on white stocking.  I began by stamping several die cuts from PTI Spruce & Sprigs in Soft Stone. Beautiful look, I think, but couldn't resist using Raspberry Fizz for the berry branches & berries.  The frame & card front are done with Lil' Inker Stitched Rectangle dies.  I hadn't yet opened PTI Botanical Blocks IV.
When I saw the little block sentiment I knew it was perfect for this card & love it embossed in silver.  Debated about some splatters, but decided to keep it white & just added Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen to the berries. Great to have a card with interest & yet flat enough to only need 1 stamp.  I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies, SSS Monday (3 big berries & 3 words), SSS Wednesday & Word Art Wednesday.  I am so thankful for all of my wonderful blogging friends--you bless my life.

Christmas Season is Here

Hope my USA friends all had a lovely Thanksgiving.  We spent it with hubby's daughter & her family--she did all the cooking & it was a feast! Only bad thing was the drive--pouring down rain there & back.  Now we're home safe & sound & intend to stay there!
I'm also getting into panic mode--1 month to Christmas! Our city already has the lighted snowflakes up downtown--so beautiful.  This is my last GD Post for Rudolph Days--a big thank you to Maureen for having me.  Thought people might need some quick & simple inspiration so I pulled out the beautiful 2007 Penny Black stamp called star dance.  I simply white embossed the wreath on red cardstock & embellished with Stickles--so pretty in person.  The font of this sentiment from PB yuletide greetings just seemed to go with the wreath. During the year I don't mind spending a bit more on postage, but at Christmas I need most of them to be flat.  I'm entering ATSM, Christmas Card Challenges, PB & More & Time Out.
TIME OUT Challenges
I also made another tag for 25 Days of Christmas Tags using Lil' Inker Stitched Rectangle die.  This one was inspired by Deborah's tag on Day 8. I was lucky enough to win a gc for SSS & couldn't resist the new Color Me Trees stamp & die set.  I white embossed the pretty swirly tree & colored it with 3 shades of green Zig wc markers.  The star in the background is from the same set & is stamped in PTI Vintage Jadeite & Mint Julep.  Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen was brushed on the tree & inside the stars.
The sentiment from DeNami is stamped in Tsukineko Silvery Shimmer & I added dots of silver Stickles.  I don't really need tags, so I just added it to a card using fun foam.  I'm also entering ATC, Dies R Us & SSS Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Edited to add: Just realized I can enter Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge since I colored my tree with Zigs.
Edited to add: Also entering my tag in the Holiday TAGplorations challenge at Stamplorations.

Memory Box and Poppystamps

Last night I pulled out my Plaid Classic Gold Liquid Leaf which I haven't used since the PTI SAF challenge. It really is beautiful & dries very quickly.  I die cut MB Prim Poppy twice from thin cardboard, glued them together & brushed on the Liquid Leaf.  I also brushed the bottom of an ivory card front. The embossing folder is Cuttlebug & sequins are PPP.  I stacked the Impression Obsession sentiment die 3 high, brushed it with Spectrum Noir clear sparkle pen & mounted it with foam tape. Black, cream & gold--never get tired of it! I'm entering Memory Box, HLS Anything Goes with DiesCropStopCCCB & Word Art Wednesday.

Next is my card for MB's sister company, Poppystamps.  I used to buy lots of single 12x12 sheets of printed paper just because I liked them.  Finally cut into this beautiful red plaid to use with my Poppystamps Majestic Maple die.  I also cut it from white cardstock & heavy weight vellum. Still love MFT Mini Rolled Roses cut from felt, even though they make for a bulky card. The sentiment AMuse is white embossed & I think it works for a winter birthday or Christmas. The red panel is spritzed with Heidi Swapp white color shine & I used the piece of silver thread laying on my table--no idea why I cut it weeks ago--haha!  I'm also entering FMS, SSS Monday & Stamplorations theme. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by & Happy Thanksgiving to all my USA friends.

Winnie & Walter and Concord & 9th

I made 2 cards over the weekend using stamps/dies from a couple companies that have recently been added to my list of favorites: Winnie & Walter and Concord & 9th.
First is my entry for W&W Rerun #16 using Lydia's wreath card for inspiration.  My wreath is made with by stamping the tiny leaf & blossom from W&W Big, Bold, Seasons using Memento Pistachio & Rhubarb Stalk. The sentiment is from the same set & I gold embossed "winter" & stamped "bliss" in Versafine Vintage Sepia. Gold stickles was added to the centers of the blossoms & the panel was liberally spritzed with gold Perfect Pearls. I'll probably use it for a winter birthday card.  I'm also entering AAA Cards & Double D.

Next is my Sparkle & Shine card for Where Creativity Meets C9.  I really love the Layering Leaves dies & my sweet friend Betty sent me several die cuts.
I really like the look of leaving some of the pieces in place & it also allows more color to show. I watercolored with Zigs & added Stickles after they dried. Using Perfect Paper Adhesive (dries invisible) I attached the leaves to ones still on the sheet Betty used to send them to me.  The scrap of kraft was on my table & I thought it was perfect for the background.  Using my Mini MISTI I stamped the sentiment from C&9 Love You, Mean It stamp set using Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate. The trim with gold metallic threads was $1 at Target--so pretty. I'm also entering CropStop & The Playground.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
