Thinking of You

My last IO order included the beautiful Sketch Roses stamp which I've had my eye on for a long time.  So glad I finally got it--will be used a lot!
For this card I white embossed on Bristol paper & colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers & a water brush.  This is a large square stamp, but I just cut off a strip & added silver glitter tape to the edges.  Here's a close up showing the effect of spritzing with Perfect Pearls.
The sentiment is from IO Anytime Sentiments & once again I've used my favorite Brilliance Graphite Black.  I got this set a year ago & need to keep it out so I remember to use it.  The sentiments are great & most of them haven't been used.  I'm  entering Impression ObsessionHLS Watercolor, SSS Wednesday & SSS Work it Wednesday.  Ready or not, here comes 2018!  I have some exciting news to share on Jan. 2, so hope you'll pop in again.

Truly CAS

I received a couple of wonderful Christmas cards that are truly CAS--lots of space with no image.  It's amazing how appealing this type of card can be, so I gave it a try.  My white space is actually green.
I also have some white white space if the tiny black splatters don't count.  In the strictest definition, the splatters DO count, but I love what they add to my card.  This is my entry for WCMC9 using the Love You, Mean It stamp set that was a gift from a blogging friend.  I stamped the little stem in PTI New Leaf using first & second generation stamping.  The sentiment from the same set was stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black.  I really think it's the best black ink for sentiments as I don't even have to use my stamp positioner--one inking does it!  Originally I planned to add some of the little flowers, but left them off so this can be for hubby who likes green.  I debated about popping up the panel, but keeping it flat seemed to fit with the feel of this card.  Love having cardstock that matches the PTI inks.  I'm also entering SSS Wednesday, The House that Stamps Built & WAW.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Papertrey December Blog Hop Challenge

Beautiful inspiration for today's PTI Blog Hop.  I used the color combo of pink, green & white to make a Valentine for a blogging friend.
The PTI stamps are Harvest Berries, Turning a New Leaf, Friendship Jar Flowers & Make it Market Garden Gild.  The inks are PTI Vintage Jadeite, Aqua Mist, Lovely Lady, Pale Peony & Sweet Blush.  I brushed a scrap with Vintage Jadeite mixed with Perfect Pearls & also splattered with that mixture.  PTI Love die was cut from the green scrap & stacked 3 high.  The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp & I added 3 white Nuvo drops.

I stamped a large image from Harvest Berries in Delicata White Shimmer for a beautiful subtle design on the card front.  Always lots of inspiration--enjoy the hop!  I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies & Word Art Wednesday.

Faux Stained Glass

Finished my card for PTI MIM yesterday, but have been baking cookies & trying to catch up on my blog reading today.  Decided I better get my post done before we watch another football game.
I used the PTI Hexagon coverplate, PTI vellum & COPIC markers RV09 & V17.  The sentiment is from Boutique Borders: Birthday.  The snowflake die cuts are done with What the Doodle: Snowflakes.  The large snowflake was cut from sparkle paper & backed with white cardstock.  I scribbled the 2 markers on a scrap & die cut the little snowflakes from the same set.  I haven't colored on the back of vellum in a long time, but now I have some ideas for more projects.  I tend to use blue & silver for snowflakes, but it's fun to try something different.  Hopefully my friend will like it.  I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies, The Snippets Playground, SSS Monday, SSS Wednesday & Word Art Wednesday.  Wishing everyone a safe & wonderful Christmas with family and friends.

New Holly Stamp Again

My heart goes out to everyone involved in the horrific train derailment in Washington state.  Hits close to home as I've driven that stretch of I5 many times & my first job after college was at one of the hospitals where the injured were taken.
I love my new Impression Obsession holly stamp, G2000, so had to make another card.  This time I was inspired to try the color combo recommended by my blogging friend, Tracy: Rose Gold and Gray.
I recently got SSS Rose Gold embossing powder & love the look.  In person, the card is wonderfully elegant.  The IO sentiment, B3585, was double embossed with the same powder.
Luckily I still have my old fashioned stamp positioner to use with wood mounted stamps.  I'm entering the Impression Obsession Challenge, CAS on FridaySSS Christmas Card Day & W2CB.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Another Tag and 2 Cards

My friend, Rosemary, has made a ton of incredible tags for The 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.  Didn't plan to make any more, but she inspired me.  One of my favorites was by Angie on Day 11.  I love the unique tag shape, blue/green color combo, wreath & letter die cuts.
My version is done with MFT dies & Lawn Fawn plaid paper.  The blue paper is from a printed paper pack I got years ago in a close-out & the silver glitter paper is Heidi Swapp.  The letters were brushed in Wink of Stella & covered with Crystal Laquer.
I added a white shadow making them pop off the background.  Love the white/silver twine which matched great.  I'm also entering Stamplorations TAGplorations.

Next, here's the card I made with that tag.
Gave me a chance to use my newest embossing folder, Lumberjack Days.  I "had" to have it after seeing it on Carol's blog.  Oregon is known for the timber industry & produces the most real Christmas trees in the US.  I'm entering CropStopMFT Sketch ChallengeSSS Monday & SSS Christmas Card Day.
Christmas Card Day
My last card is a Valentine made for PTI CAWULizzie Jones made the card that inspired me on day one of the release.  I used PTI Rosie Posie original stamps & the step 2 stamps with Lovely Lady & Autumn Rose.
The PTI love die was cut from the solid side of the printed paper & several times from white cardstock.  The roses & heart were brushed with Wink of Stella & the word was covered in Crystal Laquer.
Finished off with  PPP stitched edge die & soft pink sequins.  This is really quite flat for mailing, but still has plenty of interest & dimension with the layers, I think.  I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies & SSS Wednesday.

New Holly Stamp

I'm one of those people who takes forever to use a gift certificate.  I'm always afraid I'll wish I'd gotten something else.  However, I did take advantage of the recent Impression Obsession sale & here's my first card with one of my new stamps--Holly, G2000.
I was immediately drawn to it on-line & oh my goodness--it is so beautiful!  I used a mask I'd previously made from acetate with a circle die.  The Distress Inks are peeled paint, shabby shutters & frayed burlap.  The holly is gold embossed, as is the strip of cardstock.
I splattered with Distress Stain Tarnished Bronze & stamped the IO sentiment, B5518, in frayed burlap.  No buyers remorse this time!  I'm entering the Impression Obsession challenge, Country View Challenges, SSS Monday, SSS Christmas Card Day & Stamplorations Theme & Sketch.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by in this busy holiday season.
